Why I’m Running Every Day of 2025 (and Why It Matters for Everything Else)

I’m putting a big, bold goal on the table for 2025: run every single day. No days off. Not one. You might be thinking, “Why take on something so extreme?” Believe it or not, it’s not just about fitness. It’s about discipline, resilience, and building a mindset that spills over into every area of life—from business to family to personal growth.

The Concept of “Misogi”

In some circles, a “misogi” refers to a challenge so audacious that it forces you to shift your identity. The idea is that by stepping into something that feels borderline impossible, you emerge changed, with new skills and a fortified mindset. For me, that’s the daily run. It will stretch me physically, sure—but the main point is to change how I show up every single day.

1. How It Relates to Business

 Daily Habits Multiply

When you show up to run daily, you’re practicing consistency at its core. That discipline naturally transfers to business—whether it’s writing content, making calls, or refining strategy. Little actions, done consistently, add up in a major way over time.

 Endurance Over Motivation

Let’s face it: motivation is fickle. You can’t rely on feeling inspired every day. By committing to a daily run, I’m building the endurance muscle—doing the work even when excitement dips. That’s how real progress happens in business too.

2. How It Impacts Family

 Leading by Example

When you have a big, challenging goal, your family sees a living demonstration of perseverance. It sparks conversations about commitment and grit, showing that when you say you’re going to do something, you follow through—even on days you’d rather skip.

 Time Management Skills

We’ve all got 24 hours in a day, and fitting in a run every single day means I’ll have to be ultra-intentional about my schedule. That planning trickles into everything else—especially making sure there’s quality family time. By organizing my mornings or evenings for a run, I end up structuring the rest of my day more effectively.

3. How It Impacts Personal Life

 Mental Resilience

Overcoming that little voice that says “I don’t feel like it” every single day is transformative. You start proving to yourself that you’re more capable than you think. And once you harness that resilience, it benefits every personal challenge you face—financial goals, relationship growth, or learning a new skill.

 Identity Shift

A big goal changes how you see yourself. Instead of being someone who “occasionally works out” or “sort of tries new things,” you become the person who consistently commits and finishes the job. That identity shift can open doors: you start to believe you can tackle bigger, scarier goals across your entire life.

What This Means for You

My challenge might be running—but yours could be something else. Maybe it’s writing 500 words a day, working on your business idea for 30 minutes every night, or dedicating daily time to your mental health practice. Whatever it is, the principle remains the same: consistent daily action is a superpower.

1. Don’t Overcomplicate It – Pick one action that’s specific and measurable.

2. Plan for Resistance – Expect days you don’t feel like it. That’s when real growth happens.

3. Track Your Progress – Keep a simple log or calendar. Seeing those streaks build up is unbelievably motivating.

4. Link It to Your Larger Goals – Maybe it’s business expansion, building a better relationship with loved ones, or leveling up your skills. Whatever your ‘why’ is, connect it to the daily action.

Closing Thought

Running every day in 2025 is going to be hard—I know it. But it’s exactly that level of difficulty that makes it valuable. I want to step into discomfort, challenge my limits, and come out on the other side a more determined, more focused, and ultimately happier person.

Question for You:

What’s your daily commitment for 2025? It doesn’t have to be extreme—but it does need to matter to you.
